We embrace the following 16 doctrines:
The Scriptures Inspired:
The Bible, divinely inspired, serves as the ultimate guide for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible is much more than a “good book” or a collection of spiritual advice. It's infallible, authoritative, and the final word on faith and how we live.
The One True God:
There exists only ONE, triune God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. Also called the Trinity, this is not three gods, but ONE God in three distinct persons (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
The Deity of Christ:
Jesus Christ is both 100% God and 100% man. He wasn't just a prophet or a wise teacher as many claim. He is the eternal Son of God, supernaturally born of a virgin, sinless throughout His life, willingly crucified for our sins, raised from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the God the Father (Philippians 2:6-11; John 1:1, 1:14).
The Fall of Man:
Because of Adam's disobedience to God in the Garden of Eden, sin entered the world, and every person born since has sinned because of the corrupt nature we inherited from Adam (Romans 5:12). This means unless we choose to be saved through Jesus Christ, we're hopelessly separated from God, and unable to save ourselves.
The Salvation of Man:
Salvation is available through faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection. It’s not something you can earn. (Ephesians 2:8-9) When we repent of our sins and believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we're forgiven, cleansed of all sin past and present, and made brand new!
The Ordinances of the Church:
We practice Water Baptism by immersion as an outward expression of an inward change (Matthew 28:19), as well as Communion, which reminds us of Christ's sacrifice and our unity with Him and each other (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
All believers are eligible to receive the Holy Spirit’s empowerment for life and service. This is a free gift that is distinct experience after salvation, and empowers believers for service and witness (Acts 2:4).
Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
Speaking in tongues is a sign of this baptism. When someone is baptized in the Holy Spirit, they speak in other tongues. This is the initial physical evidence, as seen throughout the book of Acts (Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6).
Sanctification:
Sanctification is the process of being transformed in holiness to God through every aspect of your life, all while being set apart from things that are sinful. It begins the moment we're saved and continues throughout our lives as the Holy Spirit transforms us into the image of Christ (Romans 12:1,2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 12:14).
The Church and Its Mission:
“The Church” is the body of Christ, and its mission is to spread the gospel and disciple believers. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).
The Ministry:
God calls and equips ALL believers for various roles and ministries, both inside and outside of the church. Every believer is called to serve in different ways, with some specifically called to leadership roles within the church: pastors, teachers, evangelists, and more (Mark 16:15-20; John 4:23,24; Ephesians 4:11-12).
Divine Healing:
Physical healing is attainable through prayer and God’s divine intervention. We believe that Jesus heals today just as He did 2,000 years ago ((Isaiah 53:4,5; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24). We pray for the sick, anoint them with oil, and trust God for miracles!
The Blessed Hope:
Although we don’t know the day or the hour, scripture teaches that Jesus Christ is coming back; we live prepared and ready for His return! This is our blessed hope, also called the rapture of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52).
The Millennial Reign of Christ:
After He returns, Jesus will reign on Earth for a thousand years. This will be a time of peace, justice, and righteousness (Revelation 19:11-14; 20:1-6).
The Final Judgment:
Every person to have ever lived will face God’s judgment, leading to either eternal life or eternal separation from God. Those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life will enter eternal life. Those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God in the lake of fire (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 20:11-15).
The New Heavens and the New Earth:
God will create a new, perfect heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1).Believers will enjoy eternal life with God in His presence. There will be no more pain, suffering, death, tears, or sin!
